Preliminary Danny is RIGHT endorsement

So I've really only barely been keeping up with the candidates for president.  I think most candidates entered the race way too early and I think most Americans could care less right now.  I think Fred Thompson got in at the right time, and I don't think it will hurt him at all to have entered the race after the others.  I kinda like Fred Thompson, and I figure he's going to be one of the top candidates for consideration.

However, I am hoping another candidate gets more popular and ends up getting the nomination.  His name is Ron Paul.  You've probably never heard of him unless you've watched the debates.  I haven't watched any debates yet, but I've read about him quite a bit on the internet (he apparently has a really large internet following).  Anyway, here is his official campaign site and here is a wikipedia article about his political positions.

And if you have time, here is a video of some of his comments at the debate the other night

I'm not going to say I completely agree with him on everything.  For instance, I was for the war in Iraq (and still am).  However, his reasons for saying we should not have gone are fine by me.  I'd be fine with our military leaving other countries and focusing on securing our borders.  I'd be fine if we decided not to get into situations like Iraq any more (or at least leaving it up to Congress, assuming they really listened to the American people)

I'd especially be fine with many of his other Libertarian views such as abolishing the IRS, allowing citizens to carry guns pretty much anywhere, states-rights, etc.  I've always considered myself more of a Libertarian than a Republican anyway.  Republicans aren't RIGHT enough if you ask me.  :)  I think that we need the most conservative candidate out there if we are going to keep Congress in check, and I think Ron Paul is clearly the most conservative (since Buchannan\Nugent apparently isn't going to happen - sorry Mike).  Next on my list would be Mike Huckabee, and then probably Fred Thompson.

Anyway, Ron Paul, you have the support of Danny is RIGHT.  I know you've been anxiously awaiting it.  :)  Hopefully more support will follow.

As for the democrats, I really could care less who wins their nomination because hopefully none of them will win.  Nuff said about that.  :)
