Well, football season has started. Must mean Donovan McNabb wants to get another race war started. From this article...
Philadelphia Eagles star Donovan McNabb says black quarterbacks face greater scrutiny than their white counterparts.
In an interview on HBO's "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel" to be broadcast Tuesday, McNabb said black quarterbacks "have to do a little bit extra" because there are relatively few of them, adding "people didn't want us to play this position."
McNabb said if he passes for 300 yards and his team wins by a touchdown, critics will say, "Oh, he could have made this throw here. We would have scored more points if he would have done this."
Asked if white quarterbacks such as Peyton Manning and Carson Palmer are held to the same standards, McNabb replied: "Let me start by saying, I love those guys. But they don't get criticized as much as we do. They don't."
My goodness. So a couple of years ago, black quarterbacks didn't get enough credit for how well they played. Now, the expectations on them are too high. WHICH ONE IS IT??!!!!
Donovan, I know you're having a tough time right now. Just got back from an injury and have had horrible performances the last couple of weeks. But come on man. Do you really think any other high profile NFL quarterback would not be scrutinized the same as you are if they had a different SKIN COLOR? If so, you are an IDIOT. There, I said it. I feel better.
If you want to shut the critics up, how about trying to PLAY BETTER. Prove it on the field, Donovan. That's all you need to do.
